Frequently Asked Questions

What sort of certifications do I need to run a franchise?

If you are going to be the captain of the vessel, you will need a minimum of a “6-Pack” US Coast Guard License. However, some inland lakes may only require a commercial type boating license.  Please research your local jurisdiction requirements.

What is the Initial Franchise Fee?

The Cruisin’ Tikis initial franchise fee is $20,000 for US Domestic locations and $25,000-$35,000 for International locations.  This fee is for the franchise territory and does not include the initial cost of the Cruisin’ Tiki vessel which is currently running between $54,500 and $56,480.  There is no additional franchise fee for multiple vessels.

What sort of royalties are required?

Cruisin’ Tikis has an on-going royalty fee of 6% and a 2% national brand advertising fee.   These are calculated on gross revenue.

Are the Cruisin' Tikis USCG compliant?

Each Cruisin’ Tikis vessel is placarded for 6 commercial or 12 non-commercial passengers.  The boats are delivered complete with all USCG required equipment and includes a pressure water system, Kicker “Bluetooth” stereo and speaker system, Suzuki 30hp motor and 12 gal fuel tank, anchor and dock lines.

Does Cruisin' Tikis provide Financing?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide business loans to prospective franchises.  We are however, approved and listed with the SBA and you may be able to talk to your banking managers to see if this is a viable option for you.

What is included in the franchise?

The franchise currently comes with:

  • Complete online booking software and credit card processing
  • Dedicated landing website page on our website
  • Exclusive use of the Registered Trademarks for use in social media and website
  • Ongoing technical support for operations and maintenance
  • National Brand Advertising
What research should I do for my location?

There are several factors that make up a successful operation.  There are also local jurisdictional regulations that may govern the operation of your franchise.  The following topics are some you should take into consideration:

  • Location for your Cruisin’ Tiki.  Must be visible and easily accessible
  • Are local US Coast Guard captains available, if you are not going to captain the vessel?
  • Do you have any local charter or tour boat regulations?
What about insuring the Cruisin' Tikis?

There are currently several insurance companies that are insuring the franchise locations.  We will provide you a list of current companies during the franchise approval process.
